Year-round financial assistance for spay and neuter surgery for low-income pet owners, run by the Friends of the Animal Shelter volunteer group. Approved applicants pay a small copay, receive emailed vouchers and book with a participating vet. The group also runs a Spay Day USA event each February for low-income owners.

- Who can use it: Low-income pet owners living within St. Joseph city limits, with income verification (pay stubs, tax documents, benefit letters, or documentation of no income). Vaccinations must be up to date with proof. Vet choice is limited to participating clinics.
- How to get started: Apply online through the Spay It Forward application on petforu.com or with a paper application at the St. Joseph Animal Shelter. After approval and copay, the owner schedules the appointment.
