Privacy
The short version: what you send us is used to help you and your pet, and for nothing else. Only Help My Pet can see it. Nothing about your pet goes public unless you say yes. We never sell or rent your information. Ask anytime and we’ll delete it.
What we collect
- What you type into a form: for example your pet’s situation, your city and state, your name, an email or phone number, and your story. Only what you choose to send.
- A photo, if you add one. Photos go to private storage that only Help My Pet can open. They aren’t public.
- Where you came from, if you arrived from a partner’s flyer or link (for example a hospital’s QR code). This only tells us which partner sent you.
Forms are sent securely (HTTPS). What you type never goes into a web address, so it doesn’t end up in browser history or shared links.
How we use it
- To answer you and put together your free funding plan.
- To build your pet’s fundraiser page, if you ask for one. We publish a fundraiser page only after you’ve said yes, and you can ask for changes or have it taken down anytime.
- To fix or add a listing, if you sent a correction or a suggestion.
We don’t sell, rent or trade your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Comments
If you comment on a post, your name and comment appear on the site after a quick review. An email address, if you add one, is never shown.
What stays in your browser
Longer forms save a draft in your own browser while you type, so you don’t lose your work if the page closes. It’s cleared once you send the form. Nothing in that draft reaches us until you press send.
Help My Pet doesn’t use advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Our host keeps standard technical logs (like any website) to keep the site running and secure.
Links to other sites
Program listings link to the organizations’ own websites, and some “save money” links are affiliate links. Once you leave Help My Pet, that site’s own privacy policy applies. Merch is sold through Minty Tees, which handles orders and payment.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send for as long as we’re helping you, and for as long as your pet’s fundraiser page is up. If you ask us to delete it, we will.
Changes, copies or deletion
Use the contact form and include your reference number if you have one (it starts with HMP-). Tell us what you’d like changed, copied or deleted, and we’ll take care of it.
