Humane society and stray holding facility for the City of Dubuque, Dubuque County and Jo Daviess County, placing nearly 3,000 companion animals a year. Offers dog, cat and critter adoptions, lost and found pets, rehoming resources, a working cat program, foster program and the member-only Hadley's Dog Park. Surrender requests are evaluated against shelter capacity.

Hours: Tuesday to Friday noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.; closed to the public Monday.
