Donor- and grant-funded program that provides certain veterinary care for injured or critically sick pets at the YHS Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic when owners cannot afford normal veterinary rates, and on a limited basis helps with emergency care. Procedures are outpatient only; services are not free and fees are due at the time of service.

- Who can use it: Owners who income-qualify under Federal Poverty Level guidelines, with a diagnosis and referral from a licensed veterinarian.
- How to get started: Get a diagnosis from a full-service veterinarian, who sends a referral form to the YHS Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic; give YHS the vet's written estimate and complete the Second Chance application on the website.
