Washington County's animal shelter, open since 2012, for dog and cat adoptions (spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped), owner surrenders by appointment and a low-cost spay/neuter program.

- Who can use it: Adopters must be at least 18 for a cat or 21 for a dog; renters need landlord permission.
- How to get started: Fill out an adoption application online. Surrenders are by appointment: call (479) 695-3450. For stray animal concerns, call Animal Control at (479) 444-5700.
