A national charity that gives member vet clinics money to help clients in financial crisis; you ask your own vet to request it.
Good to know
- Payment policy: Grant check goes to the clinic to cover the bill.
- Services: vet-referred, financial crisis
- Who can use it: Pet owners cannot apply directly. Only a member veterinary practice can request funds from its charitable fund, which can be used for pet owners in financial crisis, families in crisis, Good Samaritan cases and similar needs. A request cannot exceed what is currently in the fund.
- How to get started: Ask your vet's front desk whether the practice is a Veterinary Care Foundation member and whether it has a charitable fund balance it can use for your dog's visit. If it is not a member, ask your vet about other payment options.
