← Ways to pay for care

Limited grants and cost-saving guidance for established pet owners facing urgent or life-threatening veterinary problems.

Partially Confirmed · checked October 19, 2026

Who this may fit

Aid is aimed at urgent/life-threatening problems for long-time pet owners who can contribute. It generally excludes costly diagnostics such as MRI/CT, ongoing illness and treatment already completed. Care must be at an independent, privately owned or low-cost hospital: emergency hospitals, chains, franchises, veterinary-school and corporate specialty hospitals are excluded. As of October 2026 it no longer funds TPLO or TTA knee surgery, and new pets are not eligible.

Availability and limits

Official site says grants are typically $100–$350. Aid may also be guidance, cost review and lower-cost referrals.

How to start

Read the financial-aid rules, obtain a written estimate, and complete the Emergency Aid Application.
