Nonprofit that pays most or nearly all of the cost of spay/neuter surgery for low-income Onondaga County pet owners. Covered appointments are performed at Spay and Neuter Syracuse (SANS) and include a pre-op exam, surgery, rabies and distemper vaccines, flea treatment, ear cleaning, nail trim and take-home pain medication.

- Who can use it: Onondaga County residents with total gross household income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level, with proof of income. Owners pay a small copay based on income. Dog owners pay a refundable deposit one week before the appointment.
- How to get started: Call Fixing to Help and leave a message to register your cat or dog, with proof of income ready. After approval, call SANS to book the surgery.
