Martha's Vineyard has no 24/7 emergency animal hospital. A group of island veterinary practices (Michelle Jasny VMD, Animal Health Care Associates, The Vineyard Veterinary Clinic, Caring for Animals) works with VetTriage, a paid 24/7 video telehealth service. A VetTriage vet assesses your pet on live video, gives home-care advice if it can wait, or arranges a visit with the island on-call vet when one is available, or tells you how to get to an off-island emergency hospital such as Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists in Buzzards Bay or VCA South Shore in South Weymouth. The site lists Steamship Authority, Patriot Party Boats (24/7 to Falmouth) and Falmouth Taxi for getting a pet off the island in an emergency.
