Fitchburg Animal Control enforces the city's rabies vaccination, dog licensing, leash, waste pickup and barking dog ordinances, arranges kennel inspections for homes with 4 or more dogs, and takes in lost and stray dogs to reunite them with their owners. Finders of a stray or lost dog are asked to contact the animal control officer as soon as possible; lost and stray dogs cannot be kept by the finder. The city posts recent found animals for Fitchburg and Leominster.
