Care And Eligibility

Care centers serve specific cities and unincorporated communities. Shelter operations are not a substitute for an emergency veterinary hospital.

What To Do Next

Use DACC's care-center locator or contact page to find your correct facility. Ask about support before surrendering. If rehoming is necessary, review the department's screening and transition guidance. As of October 2026, DACC says appointments are no longer required to surrender a pet; visit your local care center during business hours.
